A word to the wise ain’t necessary, it’s the stupid ones who need the advice. – Bill Cosby
I haven’t always been a good listener. Back in the day you couldn’t tell me nut’n. But good advice is priceless.
Just because you think it that doesn’t mean you should speak it.
I’m not sure who told me that but it echoes in my head .
Back in the day my mouth was “turrble” as Charles Barkley likes to say. If I thought something then you best to believe that I was going to say it. I know….
My goal was to hurt you before you hurt me. As I look back I know that my upbringing was the reason for that. I grew up with a verbally abusive parent so I learned the negative impact of words at an early age.
These days I don’t say everything I think. I’ve learned that some battles aren’t worth my time. Time is something that we can’t get back so why waste it.
Words no longer bother me like they used to. I know who I am and whose I am.
Don’t get me wrong I won’t let you talk to me any kind of old way. I just choose my words with more wisdom these days.
With the help of the advice above, I learned that I don’t have to tear people down with my words. If I can’t motivate you then I don’t say too much of anything. Well I try not to anyway…
In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on. -Robert Frost
