At the beginning of the year, I chose one word to drive me. I wanted a word that would motivate me to reach my goals for 2015. That word is focus. With social media consuming so much of our time, the noise coming from all directions can make it hard to focus. For instance, one minute I’m writing a blog post and the next minute I’m scrolling my Twitter feed. How did I even get on Twitter is the question I’m often left asking myself. Then I tell myself to focus and I get back on track. I know I’m not alone.
In efforts to hold myself accountable, I’m going to share a monthly post for accountability. I want you to know what I’m up to so you can hold me accountable and I can see what you’re doing. We can keep each other focused. Team work makes the dream work so let’s do this.
Work out and eat breakfast daily. Eating breakfast is hard for me. I’m usually not hungry. However, I know that I need to break the overnight fast and get my metabolism going. But this can be a problem when you already have a weak tummy like me, so I start with fruit. I bought a package of kiwi and a bag of Halo mandarins. I eat a kiwi or a mandarin to start my day along with a glass of water. Then I start a 10-minute work out with Jillian Michaels.
Create vision board. I have meant to do this for so long. I know I need to do it so I’m going to buckle down and make it happen this week so I can enter the 2nd quarter of the year like a boss…a boss with a vision.
Read six books. I have slacked when it comes to reading. Before my mom passed I was an avid read, but then I stopped. I just didn’t feel it. But now I’m getting back on my groove. I just finished The Lost Treasures of R&B by George Nelson and Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod. I’ll post a review for those soon. I’m reading Mindset by Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. and You Are a Writer (So Start Acting Like One) by Jeff Goins.
Finish new lifestyle blog. Yes, I have a new lifestyle blog I’m launching. I just got the logo done and I can’t wait to get it off the ground. You’ll get more details very soon! 🙂
Write daily. As Jeff Goins says in his book, You Are a Writer, “It’s time to kill the excuses and start writing.” I love writing but I often get so caught up doing everything else that I don’t write. So now I schedule one hour per day to do just that, write.
Get business site up. I need to get my professional site up. Again, it’s the process of taking the time to just do it.
Spend more time with friends. I have neglected my boo thangs. I have felt some type of way. The holidays had me in an emotional slump that kind of lingered on. I’m climbing out the hole and spring is almost here. It’s time to get out and about.
Finish this list.
So, here’s my March list of things to do. Drop your list in the comments and we can hold each other accountable. How is your month going so far?
